Sariska National Park, Rajasthan

                            The Sariska Tiger Reserve is an Indian national park located in the Alwar district of the state of Rajasthan. The area of Sariska, being a part of the Aravalli Range, is rich in mineral resources, such as copper. In 1978, this park was given the status of a tiger reserve making it a part of India's Project Tiger scheme. Sariska Tiger Reserve is well nestled in the Aravali Hills covering 800 sq km area divided into the grasslands, dry deciduous forests, sheer cliffs and rocky landscape. The best and the most attractive feature of the Sariska Tiger Reserve has always been its Bengal Tigers. This is the first ever Tiger Reserve in the world where the relocation of tigers has been done successfully, makes it one of a kind. Sariska park is home to numerous carnivores including Leopard, Wild Dog, Jungle Cat, Hyena, Jackal, and Tiger. These feed on an abundance of prey species such as Sambar, Chitel, Nilgai, Chausingha, Wild Boar and Langur. Sariska is also well known for its large population of Rhesus Monkeys, which are found in large numbers around Talvriksh. Sariska Tiger Reserve remain open form 1st October to 30th June for all seven days of the week.
