Famous Tourist Spots in Rajasthan

                    Rajasthan is a state in the northwest of India. It is mainly arid and its western border is adjacent to Pakistan. The main attraction for travellers is the vast Desert of Thar and one of the oldest mountain ranges in the world - Aravalis - and the Rajput heritage which is apparent in the forts, temples and palaces established by the Rajput Kings.

Jaipur, also known as 'Pink City'

                   Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan. Jaipur is a major tourist attraction amongst Indian as well as international travellers.  It hosts several attractions like the City Palace, Govind Dev ji Temple, Birla Temple, several massive Rajput forts and so on.

This massive fort-palace complex built in hybrid Hindu-Muslim style dates back to Raja Man Singh

Jaigarh Fort


                    The Jaigarh Fort is a majestic stronghold built by Sawan Jai Singh II. This almost-intact fort is surrounded by huge battlements and is connected to the Amer Fort (also called 'Amber' Fort), with subterranean passages. Originally built to protect the Amer Fort and the palace within the complex, the Jaigarh Fort is architecturally similar to the Amer Fort, and offers a panoramic view of the city of Jaipur.

Nahargarh Fort


The smallest of the three forts, notable primarily for excellent views over Man Sagar lake and the vast sprawl of Jaipur.

City Palace of Jaipur


                  Located in the heart of the Pink City Jaipur, the City Palace was where the Maharaja reigned from. This palace also includes the famous ‘Chandra Mahal' and ‘Mubarak Mahal', and other buildings which form a part of the palace complex.

Hawa Mahal


The renowned ‘Palace Of The Winds', or Hawa Mahal, is one of the prominent tourist attractions in Jaipur city.

Jodhpur, the Gateway to Thar

Mehrangarh Fort


                  Mehrangarh Fort dominates the city and is the largest fort in all Rajasthan. Founded in 1458 as the site of Rao Jodha's new capital — hence the name, Jodhpur — the city has grown around it. The name "Fort" belies the size of the complex, which houses the Maharaja's palace, several temples and, tucked away in the back, an extensive garden still farmed to this day. Highlights within the palace include... Moti Mahal (Pearl Hall), Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Hall), Phool Mahal (Flower Hall), Zenana Deodi, Chamunda Mataji Temple.

Jaswant Thada


                   Famous Jaswant Thada in Jodhpur, India is an example of architectural brilliance in India. It is a white marble memorial, built out of intricately carved sheets of marble. The carving shows the genius of the sculptors. These stones are extremely thin and polished. As a result, the outside surface of the monument emits a warm glow when the sunrays fall on its surface. There is also beautiful marble jali work on the cenotaph. You can have some nice views from the terrace in front of the cenotaph.

Mandore


Mandore is 7 located km outside the city. The ancient capital of Marwar, before Jodhpur was built.

Khejarla Fort


Khejarla Fort is located 85 km. from the main city. The stunning red sandstone monument is an example of the Rajput architecture.

Jaisalmer, the "Golden City"

                    Jaisalmer is located on the westernmost frontier of India. Close to the border with Pakistan, the city is known for its proximity to the Thar Desert. Desert Safari in the sand dunes of Jaisalmer is an unforgettable experience.

                     Jaisalmer fort is also known as the “Sonar Quila”. Colourful shades of the setting sun and golden hues of the desert ambience give a fairy tale look to this mega structured fort. The interior of this fort is amazing.

Junagarh Fort


This is one of the oldest forts and was one of the few forts in India that was never defeated.
